The article draws upon two burial assemblages from Aitania Pediada and the debate about Geometric Knossos region through the scope of its ceramic workshop. The homogeneity and resilience of the morphological and technical characteristics of the Knossian vessels and their intense production rate signifies their widespread handling, management and "consumption" in relation to the burial customs of the time, which may reflects the power of Knossos in these early historical times. The extent and wealth of the Knossos cemeteries are witnessed by a corresponding size city, perhaps the most important of that time, which probably exercised control over its wider region, with the aim of sufficiency and the maintenance of its position.
Key words: Aitania Pediada, Geometric Knossos, Knossos cemeteries, Knossian pottery workshop, Phoinikia, Eltyna, Archanes
