Επίτιμη Έφορος Αρχαιοτήτων, Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού
Η διευθύντρια της Εφορείας Αρχαιοτήτων Πέλλας Μπετίνα Τσιγαρίδα συμπεριέλαβε το 2017 στις δραστηριότητες της Εφορείας και μια ιστορική αναδρομή στο ανασκαφικό παρελθόν του αρχαιολογικού χώρου της Πέλλας. Σε συνεργασία με τον πολιτιστικό σύλλογο Σύνδεσμος των Φίλων του Αρχαιολογικού Μουσείου Πέλλας, οργάνωσε φωτογραφική έκθεση για τον εορτασμό των 60 χρόνων ανασκαφών στην Πέλλα, προσκαλώντας και αρχαιολόγους της πρώτης δεκαετίας των ανασκαφών να καταθέσουν τις προσωπικές αναμνήσεις τους. Είμαι από εκείνους που έσπευσαν «εκ περάτων» και, πριν από τις αναμνήσεις, καταθέτω τις προσωπικές ευχαριστίες μου στη Διευθύντρια της Εφορείας για την τιμή της πρόσκλησης.

Pella 1962
The excavation and its people

After a brief reference to the pioneer excavators of Ancient Pella, the author shares her personal memories from the Pella excavation program in 1962, in which she participated as a scientific assistant immediately after her graduation from the Archaeological Department of the University of Thessaloniki.The paper describes the archaeological site of Pella in 1962 including its temporary infrastructures and the first archaeological museum. There is also a special reference to the working place of the author in the excavation sector in the «Acropolis» of Pella, where the royal palace of the Macedonian capital has been later identified. Finally, the article focuses on the excavation team of archaeologists, conservators, technicians, guards and workers, who in 1962 worked together and shared the hard work of the excavation and the joy of the discovery of the great and small finds in this important archaeological site.
